About us
The Norwegian Train Driver Academy (Lokomotive driver school – Lokførerskolen) is a public, state-approved vocational college that offers a one-year education worth 60 credits.
The students start by attaining their train driving license. The academic curriculum builds knowledge about infrastructure and vehicles. Approximately half the course consists of practical training with qualified driving instructors from various railway companies with experience in both passenger and freight traffic. The school has a large simulation centre that is used extensively in training. This provides an opportunity for the students to practice what they’re learning in a safe environment.
